Summer House in Greece

Second post today, dears and we are going all minimalistic. You have been warned!<br /><br />Interior designer Marilyn Katsaris is the owner of this house on the island of Tinos in Cyclades, Greece. Designed by Greek Zege architects it is located on a mountain in the old residential site of Triandros.<strong></strong> It is actually made up of two separate houses which have been brought together through a picturesque veranda. Pigeon whole windows, curved white forms of structure and exposed stone formations are the examples of this typical form of architecture.<br /><br />In an open plan layout almost everything is built in with the spaces made up of strictly 2 materials: cement detailing throughout and wooden beams decorating the ceiling. Summer House on Paros

Interior Designer Paola Navone

Good morning dear readers. Today we're heading for Greece to visit Italian interior designer Paola Navone's house. Perched on the rocks of the Cycladic island in Greece with a magnificent view of the Aegean Sea this minimalist, rustic house has only three colours, grey, white and a little brown.<br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;font-family:'Times New Roman';font-size:100%;" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-align: justify;font-family:Arial;" ><br /></span></span><img alt="358097.jpg" id="image-article" src="http://www.marieclairemaison.com/data/images/photos/F0/358097.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 500px;" /><br />No carpets or rugs in this house. As you see they have just been painted directly on the concrete floor. On this terrrace a striped "rug" was painted, fringes and all. The beds were designed by Paola. Notice a small detail: the stripes painted on the wall perfectly match the sides of the beds and the rug.<br />At the side she placed a huge 2 metre high terracotta urn. These urns are traditionally used for storing oil and are buried in the ground.
